People leave for a lot of reasons, and when they do, they hand over to you things you don’t really want, things you’d rather forget and things you wish they’d just take along with them. They leave you lots of questions, lame excuses you can’t accept, depressing thoughts, hostile feelings and sometimes, false hopes that they will return - but usually it ends there. You know for a fact that what’s happening is normal, but it’s still sad that in the days to come, or years maybe, you will have to say goodbye again. And you never get used to the feeling. Soon, someone will take your place in their life, and you’ll find a replacement for them as well but it’s never the same. It will never be the same, and you know it.
